Pamela Pitt is trained as an attorney and traveled extensively with her camera. She quit her oil company job when she decided she needed more in her life. Eventually she moved from Texas to San Francisco where she sold her oil company stock to go to art school, graduating from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1990 with and MFA in photography. As a woman in a corporate setting, her options had been limited. She had several jobs where she was the only woman in a particular position. Art equals freedom. She could do whatever she wanted to do with her art with no one imposing limitations on what she could do or where she wanted to go.
